Install the Collector on macOS

macOS releases are available for Intel and ARM systems. The releases are
packaged as gzipped tarballs (.tar.gz). To unpack them, run the following
commands:
curl --proto '=https' --tlsv1.2 -fOL https://github.com/open-telemetry/opentelemetry-collector-releases/releases/download/v0.143.0/otelcol_0.143.0_darwin_amd64.tar.gz
tar -xvf otelcol_0.143.0_darwin_amd64.tar.gz
curl --proto '=https' --tlsv1.2 -fOL https://github.com/open-telemetry/opentelemetry-collector-releases/releases/download/v0.143.0/otelcol_0.143.0_darwin_arm64.tar.gz
tar -xvf otelcol_0.143.0_darwin_arm64.tar.gz
Every Collector release includes an executable that you can unpack and run.
